Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults:
Questions About the Roman Catholic Church? As the community of St. Anthony’s Church, we are always eager to welcome newcomers to become members. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process by which this is done. Children are also part of this process, and both adults and children enter the Catholic Church together at the Easter Vigil liturgy each year.
We welcome those who are seeking deeper meaning in their lives. If you or someone you know is looking for answers to life’s questions and seeking a deeper relationship with God, the RCIA can help. During our sessions, we look at the message of Jesus and the Church, and try to apply these values to our own lives.
The process has several stages. Each portion is an individual journey and can last a variable length of time. It begins with the Inquiry stage. This is a period of questioning where a dialogue about the message of Christianity begins. Inquirers are those who are not baptized, baptized in the Roman Catholic Church but not evangelized or completely initiated, or baptized in another Christian church but looking for instruction and initiation into the Roman Catholic church.
The RCIA climaxes with the Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism, Confirmation and the Eucharist. It is at this point one becomes a member of the Roman Catholic Faith.

Programs for the Initiated:
Catholics Returning Home:
Catholics Returning Home is a five-week (one night a week) educational series, ministered primarily through trained lay volunteers, to welcome non-practicing Catholics who are seeking answers to questions about returning to the Church. No matter how long people have been away and for whatever reason, all are invited to renew their relationship with the Catholic Church. The series is held three to four times a year. Please call the parish office to see when the next class begins. We want and need you back as full participants in the Catholic community of faith.
Small Faith Sharing Group:
Small Faith Sharing Groups of parishioners gather together year-round, weekly, or monthly, to share faith, prayer, and scripture. Everyone is welcome! Please check weekly bulletins or call the parish office for further information.
Adult Education Series:
Even though we may be educated and learned, we still have a need for ongoing nourishment. Our education is never really complete. Therefore, St. Anthony Parish hosts adult education sessions for parishioners and their friends from other parishes. There are no sessions scheduled at this time. The talks are usually held on Tuesday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Memorial Center or Religious Education Center.
